In the 68th Unstoppable Equestrian video blog, I discuss how you can communicate better with your riding instructor.
We spend a lot of money and time on riding lessons. So we really want to make sure we get the most out of our time with our riding instructor!
By knowing both our own preferred learning style and the preferred style of our instructor you can make sure you are communicating in a way that both can relate to.
If you are unsure of what your preferred learning style is you can take my short Riding Quiz by following the link https://dressageplus.com.au/take-the-quiz/
You may also like to forward this link onto your riding instructor so they can share with you their preferred style if you can’t guess it easily!
It’s not necessary to find a riding instructor with the same learning style as you. However by just knowing this information you can ask your riding instructor to communicate to you in a particular way that sinks in!
The four different learning styles I talk about are:
- Visual – People that learn through watching, or seeing something happening
- Kinesthetic – People that learn through actually doing an activity, getting a feel for it
- Auditory – People that learn through hearing how to do something
- Auditory Digital – People that learn through understanding the facts, data and logic behind something
